Kellen played all 40 minutes and scored 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. With his 6th double double Kellen leads the Pro B in this category. He´s also 5th in efficiency rating.

Jason Jamerson sets new season record

news/Jason Jamerson 8.jpgIn the fifth game Giants Noerdlingen succeeded in getting their forth season win. This time they beat TV Langen with 101-91. Jason scored a season high 36 points along with 4 rebounds. In addition he hit 11 of 12 free throws (91.7%). After 5 games Jason now leads the league with 28.6ppg and an efficiency of 30.6 points. In the game against Langen he was supported by Moodie Johnson (25 points, 13 rebounds) and Josef Eichler (22 points, 7 rebounds). Nate Drury (28), Marco Voeller (22) and Joscha Domdey (16) scored in double digits for Langen.

Jerrell Williams completes USC roster

news/Jerrell Williams.jpgAfter he already worked out two weeks with the team of USC Heidelberg, Jerrell Williams now signed a contract for the 2011-12 season in German Pro A. Jerrell can play on position 4 and 5 and completes the Big Men Bjoern Schoo, Oliver Komarek and Sanijay Watts. In the past season Jerrell graduated from LaSalle in Atlantic-10 Conference. As a senior he averaged 13.8ppg and 7.4rpg in 33 games. He began the season at Maccabi Hod Hasharon in Israel, but already left the team in the preseason.

Leroy Nobles signs with Pieno Zvaigzdes

news/Leroy Nobles.jpgLeroy Nobles of IUPUI (Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis) has signed with Lithuanian LKL promoted club Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys for the 11-12 season. In his final college year Leroy lead his team with 18.3ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.3apg, shooting 37.1% from three point range. He was voted to the All-Summit League First Team and the Summit League Tournament Team as a senior. Leroy spent the preseason with Polish top team and Euroleague member Asseco Prokom Gdynia before signing in Lithuania.

Perfect season start for Giants Noerdlingen

At game day 1 the Pro B promoted team managed to beat the Dragons Rhoendorf 87-77, at game day 2 a 94-69 road win in Breitenguessbach ensued. Jason Jamerson was leading the team in both games. While he was close to a triple double against Rhoendorf with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists he succeeded in scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists with an efficiency of 39 versus Breitenguessbach. In both games Jason hit 10 of 23 threes (43.5%).

The team of Frenki Ignatovic had to admit defeat after 40 minutes with 71-69. Devin Uskoski had a great debut for the Knights with his first season double-double (17 points, 15 rebounds). On the other side BBL experienced Aubrey Reese (16 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists) and Patrick Flomo (17 points, 9 rebounds) saved the win for Duesseldorf.

New American for Rattelsdorf Independents

The 24 years old forward Webster Moreland will fill the single import spot in the upcoming season. Webster played two years for NAIA2 top team Warner Pacific. In 10-11 season he averaged 15.8ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg in 31 games. For this reason he was also elected into NAIA2 All-American Second Team. After a preseason with ups and downs the allrounder should give the team more stability and help to win games.

Energie Zwickau signs veteran center Lars Gruebler

The 31 years old former A2 national team player can look back on 68 games in German BBL for Hagen and Leverkusen as well as 113 games in 2nd division (Bayreuth, MBC, Freiburg). Last season Lars had been backup center in Pro B squad of Gotha where he averaged 2.9ppg and 2.6rpg in 9.6mpg. After the rule change in German Regionalliga, the 6'11'' giant is supposed to be the 2nd key player in the team of Zwickau besides the American Trotter.

The farm team of EWE Baskets Oldenburg seeks for promotion to Pro B this season. After the signing of NCAA3 Player of the Year Michael Taylor and Lithuanian Erikas Kaupaitis the experience of Chris thereby is supposed to help to reach the season goal. Last season he finished 2nd in Pro A with his team and contributed 4.4ppg and 3.2rpg with a field goal percentage of 54.9%. Before his time in Wuerzburg Chris spent 4 years in Italian 2nd division (Lega Due) including Pepsi Caserta and Trenkwalder Reggio Emilia.

Through promotion of the Sixers Daniel also has the chance to establish himself athletically in Pro B. In the past years the center went through all junior national teams in Germany (U16, U18, U20 tryout). After 4 years in Nuremburg he moved to Braunschweig where he played with a double license in Pro B (2.3ppg and 2.0rpg) and 2nd Regionalliga (16.8ppg). He now receives a contract until 2014 with the Sixers.

In the expired season Devin reached the Playoff Finals in German Pro B with promoted team BG Leitershofen/Stadtbergen. He was leading his team with impressive 20.7ppg and 10.5rpg. In the season before he celebrated the Regionalliga Southeast Championship with Leitershofen as well as the promotion to Pro B. In Kirchheim he wants to show his double-double qualities on the next level and make it to the Playoffs again.

The German-Israeli has his strengths especially as playmaker and tough defender. After a detailed research reasons enough for head coach Igor Starcevic to pilot Guy to Germany. Thereby he is the second player after Ermen Reyes-Napoles who extended his contract until 2014. Chris was able to develop to a key player and a crowd favourite like the wind in his 1st season in Jena after eight years in Freiburg. Past season Kellen scored 12.8ppg and 7.8rpg with a field goal percentage of 56.3%. Thereby he has been toprebounder of his team. He shoed his best performance in the home game versus Wolfenbuettel when he led his team with 18 points and 15 rebounds. In contrast to the old season, this time Kellen will be just one of two American players in Stahnsdorf for 11/12 campaign.

Beside Moodie Johnson also Jason Jamerson already played in Germany before. In the past season he achieved 3rd place in Pro A with Saar-Pfalz Braves behind both BBL promoted teams from Munich and Wuerzburg. In a homogenous/balanced team Jason averaged 9.3ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.6apg. In Noerdlingen he is supposed to take over more responsibility and will be used on position 1 and 2.

In the past season Michael moved from Braunschweig (Pro B) to Wuerzburg and averaged there - handicapted by an injury - in 8 games 3.5ppg and 1.4rpg. After promotion of s.Oliver Baskets to BBL Michael wants to make the next step to a Pro A key player in Paderborn. First goal of the season is to reach the Pro A playoffs that will take place the first time in this season.

It has been the next step to becoming a key player after his 1st Regionalliga season 09-10 with 5.1ppg and 2.4rpg. After 3 promotions in 5 years, the EBC would like to secure the league early this time. This challenge was decisive to Florian to renew his contract for another year.

Blanchard Obiango breaks the first ground

Blanchard Obiango of Crailsheim Merlins thereby breaks the first ground and will wear the jersey of the Merlins also next season. After his transfer from Regionalliga Blanchard averaged 4.7ppg and 3.3rpg in his first Pro A season. With this he (5.5) is second most efficient German player of the club behind Femi Oladipo (9.9). Since Christmas break he even scored 6.3ppg and 4.3rpg with an efficiency of 7.7 in the remaining 15 games. In the upcoming season Blanchard wants to continue his good development.

Crailsheim in contrast secured the 6th win in the past 7 games. A tough defense that only allowed 16 points in the first half has been the key to success. Kameron Gray with 28 points and 6 rebounds (16 of 16 FT) as well as Blanchard Obiango with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals have been the most outstanding players for the Merlins. For Wuerzburg Lee Jeka (17) and Ivan Elliott (14) scored in double digits.

With their 9th win in the 9th home game of the season Stahnsdorf stays unbeaten on the home court. Kellen Williams (10 points, 9 rebounds, as well as 3 assists and 2 steals) and Michael Haucke (7 points, 8 rebounds) ensured the air sovereignty under the baskets (40-34 rebounds for Stahnsdorf). Youngster Daniel Krause had his best season game for Vechta with 22 points, but couldn´t prevent the defeat either. After 17 games both teams lead the league now together with the Schwelmer Baskets with a 13-4 record.

Thereby the team was led once again by Kameron Gray, who finished the game with 19 points and 10 assists. Femi Oladipo (16), Reggie Fuller (14) and Frank Young (11) also scored in double digits. Blanchard Obiango had his best Pro A performance so far with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. For Jena most of all Chris Roquette fought against the defeat. With a fieldgoal percentage of 80 % he scored 17 points in 23 minutes.

For Duesseldorf it has been the 3rd season win. The Giants were led by DeAndre Haynes and Steven Wright (each 18 points). Haynes also added 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Patrick Wischnewski scored 3 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist. On the other side Kyle Hines was the most successful scorer for Bamberg with 12 points.

news/Tristan Blackwood.jpgTristan Blackwood will be the new point guard for s.Oliver Baskets in German Pro A. The Canadian guard graduated from Central Conn. St. (16.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 5.2apg) where he was elected to the NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year twice. In his first pro season he played for Aris Friesland in the Dutch league (11.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.3apg). 2009-10 he returned to the team, but finished the season for co-operation partner Eiffel Towers Den Bosch. There he was also called into action in 2 games in FIBA EuroChallenge (among others vs. the future champion Goettingen where he shined with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists).

news/Gloria Giants.jpgWith a clear 86-58 road win against Phoenix Hagen the Gloria Giants Duesseldorf are back in business in the fight for a non-relgation spot in German BEKO BBL. After last weeks' win over MBC, it´s their 2nd win in a row. Having foul problems, DeAndre Haynes only played 14 minutes, but was still very effective (9 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds). Duesseldorf dominated the boards with 40-24 rebounds and kept Phoenix to a field goal percentage of 33.9% (Giants with 56.3%). With 2 season wins Duesseldorf is just 1 win behind a non-relegation spot.

SSV Lok Bernau lands Calvin Brock

news/Calvin Brock.jpgSSV Lok Bernau has strenghten its roster with the quality signing of Calvin Brock one month before the signing deadline. Calvin played 4 years for University of Illinois in prestigious Big Ten Conference. The athletic guard who can play all positions from 1 to 3, was often entrusted with special tasks in defense. In his first season in Germany he averaged 16.0ppg 6.1rpg 3.5rpg and 2.9spg for BC Weissenhorn in Pro B. Therewith he has been top5 in offensive rebounds and top2 in steals per game. In addition he was honored twice: All-Defensive Team and All-Pro B Honorable Mention.

news/DeAndre Haynes.jpgIt took 9 games... but in the end Gloria Giants Duesseldorf racked up their first season win in German BEKO BBL with a 69-67 home victory versus MBC. DeAndre Haynes was leading his team with a 26 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds gala. Olumuyiwa Famutimi also scored in double digits (14 points). Youngster Patrick Wischnewski hit a 3-pointer in 53 seconds on the court. On the other side Vassil Evtimov took advantage of the Giants' center problem and dominated the boards with 11 points and 17 rebounds. Also Guido Gruenheid came to a season high 19 points and 9 rebounds. Nevertheless the Giants kept the points in Duesseldorf.

It also has been the season debut of Michael Fleischmann after his injury at the season start. With 7 points and 2 rebounds in 13 minutes Michael immediately fit in very well. Topscorer for s.Oliver Baskets was Lee Jeka with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Also Jonathan Levy (18) and Ivan Elliott (17) scored in double digits.

All in all 6 players scored in double digits. Jason Jamerson was topscorer with 16 points (4 of 5 threes) and 6 rebounds. For webmoebel Baskets 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals of Kejuan Johnson couldn´t prevent the loss.

news/2 BBL.jpgAfter a long summer break of 5 months German Pro B is back in action. In their first game after promotion to Pro B Holidaycheck Baskets Konstanz lost 75-79 to BG Illertal-Weissenhorn in front of 1000 spectators. Michael Lay was leading Konstanz with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals while Manuel Imamovic finished with 4 points and 8 rebounds. In another game RSV Eintracht Stahnsdorf came to an easy 86-63 win over SSV Lok Bernau. Already at half time Stahnsdorf had a bright 52-23 lead. Michael Haucke contributed 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks to the win. Kellen Williams finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in only 11 minutes.

Jason Holmes convinces in Tryout

news/Jason Holmes.jpgIn German Pro B Jason Holmes was able to convince coach and management of the Schwelmer Baskets in a tryout over the past weeks. Jason also proved his allrounder qualities at college where he finished his senior year with 14.8ppg, 5.0rpg, 3.4apg and 2.1spg for Le Moyne (NCAA2). In addition he was voted to the best defender in Northeast-10 conference. 08-09 he moved to Finish 1st Division. For BC Nokia he scored 26.4ppg, 7.0rpg, 3.7apg and 2.8spg in 22 games with a 3-point fieldgoal percentage of 38.3%. Thereby he has been topscorer of the league and #5 in assists per game what led to an All-Finish 1st Division 2nd Team nomination by eurobasket.com. After a year off, he will now replace fan favorite Alexander Starr in Schwelm.

At last Blanchard played for HD Immo Baunach in 1st Regionalliga Southeast, where he has been an absolute key player with 12.8ppg and 7.4rpg (shooting 60.9% from the field). In addition he has been part of the Brose Baskets Bamberg BBL squad in 2008/09 season. After his naturalisation in the upcoming weeks he wants to cause a furor in the Pro A, too.

The forward from Eastern Washington (NCAA1) played in famous Big Sky Conference together with Detroit Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey. As senior Kellen finished with 13.5ppg and 8.3rpg. In the past two years he played for BC Energie Zwickau in German 1. Regionalliga Southeast. With 27.8ppg he finished 3rd in scoring in the league and received an All-Regionalliga Southeast First Team nomination by Eurobasket.com. Now he can prove his skills in German Pro B.

news/Gloria Giants.jpgPatrick Wischnewski (Cuxhaven Baskets, Pro A) and DeAndre Haynes (Paderborn Baskets, BBL) will be part of Murat Didin´s new Gloria Giants Duesseldorf in BEKO BBL next season. Patrick played the last one and a half years in German Pro A where he averaged 6.4ppg and 1.4rpg and finished as runner-up last season. DeAndre on the other side already played in BBL last season. In 34 games he averaged 11.2ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.0apg.

In the past season Manuel played with a double-license for Deutsche Bank Skyliners II in German Pro B (7.0ppg, 4.5rpg, FG: 63.0%) and for Eintracht Frankfurt in 1. Regionalliga Southwest where he finished the season with 13.0ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.1apg and 1.9bpg. HolidayCheck Baskets now offer him the opportunity to make the next step in his developement on Pro B level.

There he already played in 22 games for Bamberg in BBL as well as 7 games in Eurocup (ULEB-Cup, Euroleague). In addition he run through all youth National Teams in Germany (U16, U18, U20). After a strong season in Pro A for co-operation team Nuremberg where Sajmen averaged 16.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.5apg both parties parted ways. Via the stop RSV Eintracht Stahnsdorf in Pro B (13.8ppg, 2.0rpg, 4.2apg, 1.3spg) Sajmen managed the jump back into BEKO BBL. In the upcoming season he will suit up for Telekom Baskets Bonn in BBL as well as FIBA EuroChallenge.

Nicholas Michael third American in Leverkusen

news/Nick Michael.jpgNicholas Michael decided to accepted the offer from Pro B club Bayer Giants Leverkusen and will be the third American in the team after playercoach Chris Martin and college rookie Justin Eller. Nick already spent the past two season in Germany where he started for Bielefeld Dolphins in 1. Regionalliga West. With 19.7ppg he helped the team to prevent relegation. Last season he moved to Pro A together with coach Dragan Torbica. Until the coach was waived in November, Nick averaged 6.9ppg and 4.0rpg in 18.9 min per game. After the change of coaches and several additional interference factors in the environment of the club, Nick didn´t receive many chances to show his qualities. In Leverkusen he will have a more important role in the future again.

In the past season the 6'9'' center also played for Breitenguessbach in German NBBL (5.5ppg, 3.6rpg) and in 1. Regionalliga (4.9ppg, 3.2rpg). Before his two years in the farm team of Brose Baskets Bamberg, Marco started his career for SB DJK Rosenheim in German 2. Regionalliga. In Langen he will also pass his Voluntary Year of Social Service.

Chris Roquette leaves Freiburg

Bundesliga, he his now looking for a new challenge and will suit up for Science City Jena in Pro A next season. The 27-year-old forward stepped up to a leading position in his team in the past two years. 08-09 he averaged 14.7ppg and 8.0rpg (FG: 67.5%) in German Pro B, 09-10 13.5ppg and 5.8rpg in German Pro A. Chris has been #6 in ppg and #7 in rpg among all German players in the league. In the upcoming season he will form a powerful duo under the basket for Jena.

Frank Young returns to Germany

news/Frank Young.jpgAfter he was already a part of German BBL team EnBW Ludwigsburg in 2008-09, Frank Young now returns to Germany and will play for Crailsheim Merlins in German Pro A. Before Ludwigsburg Frank played four years for West Virginia in strong Big East Conference where he qualified for the NCAA tournament twice (Elite Eight in 2005 and Sweet 16 in 2006). In his senior season he averaged 15.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.4spg, therby has been one of the best three point shooters in the nation with 43.3%. In Ludwigsburg he had a solid start with 7.4ppg and 2.1rpg in BBL as well as 9.5ppg (3FG: 52.6%) and 1.3rpg in ULEB Cup. After his stops for Rotterdam Challengers and Landstede Zwolle in the Netherlands Frank now returns to Germany.

Jason Jamerson moves to Germany

news/Jason Jamerson.jpgJason Jamerson decided to play for Saar-Pfalz Braves in German Pro A in the upcoming season 2010-11. Jason played four consecutive years for Grand Valley State (NCAA2) where he reached the NCAA2 Elite Eight twice (2007, 2008). In his four years at college his team made 120 wins out of 130 games. As a senior he averaged 14.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 2.3apg and 1.9spg while shooting 44.1% from 3pt range (#14 in NCAA2). In addition he was named All-American Honorable Mention by Division 2 Bulletin. 08-09 Jason started his European career in French Pro B for St. Vallier. In 18 games he averaged 9.8ppg, 1.9rpg, 1.5apg and was second best three point shooter in the league with 44.6%. After a break due to the economic situation in the past year, Jason is now ready to prove himself in German Pro A.

Braunschweig extends contract with Nico Dilukila

After 2 years for Breitenguessbach Nico moved to Braunschweig in the past season and averaged there in 29 games 4.1ppg, 2.7rpg as well as 1.4apg. The 22-year-old combo guard improved from 2.9ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.0apg in the season before. Nico played in 82 Pro B games so far and is now looking to make the next step in his career.

Bastian Wolff remains true to Hertener Loewen

In the past season the 23-year-old forward/center had a backup role in the team (6.5min) and finished with 2.1ppg and 1.2rpg, while shooting 56.0% from the field. In addition he finished as Runner-Up with Hertener Loewen in Pro B. After the departures of Cory Abercrombie (Luxembourg) and Joleik Schaffrath (Cuxhaven BasCats, Pro A) Bastian will get the possibility to step up in the team next season.

Michael Fleischmann makes jump into Pro A

After 2 years in Pro B he had his break trough in Braunschweig in 09-10 season. Michael was 3rd best scorer of his team with 13.0ppg and 2nd best rebounder of his team with 4.3rpg. With 42.0% he has been one of the best three point shooters in Pro B as well. In Wuerzburg Michael will play on position 4 and 3.

New shooter for Rattelsdorf Independents

With Augie Johnston, an excellent three point shooter arrives in Rattelsdorf. Augie already played this season in Germany. In 2. Regionalliga West he finished as runner-up with Velbert Baskets and averaged 28.4ppg. In 07-08 season Augie has been second best three point shooter in whole NCAA2 with 50.0% (67-134) successful threes. As Rattelsdorf had the most three point attempts (1.503) among all teams in Germany this season, Augie will be a perfect fit for the team of coach Rainer Wolfschmitt.

Michael Haucke accepts offer from Stahnsdorf

news/Michael Haucke.jpgIn the past weeks Michael Haucke has been one of the hottest German centers on the market. Only three months before most teams didn´t have the 6'11'' giant on their agenda. Starting the season for BSW Sixers in German 1. Regionalliga he averaged 5.1ppg and 3.0rpg until his player movement to Stahnsdorf (Pro B). Given the trust of the coach, he surprised many critics with his performances for his new team. in 11 season games Michael thereby scored 11.5ppg, 9.3rpg (#1 in the league), 1.5apg and 2.4bpg (#1 in the league) while shooting a high 67.9% from the field (#2 in the league). Despite numerous offers he now decided to stay in Stahnsdorf for another season as the team had given him a great opportunity before.

Contract Extension for Adrian Hill

news/Adrian Hill.jpgAfter he joined the team in the past season not until December, Adrian Hill is now the first player in the roster of Science City Jena for the upcoming season. After a poor season start (3-7) Jena won 10 out of the remaining 20 games to finish on a respectable 10th place in German Pro A. Adrian averaged 12.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.1apg and 1.4bpg while shooting 67.5% from the field (3rd best in Pro A). In addition he finished in Top10 in rebounding and in Top6 in shot blocking in the league.
